Paws, Purpose, and Gratitude: Why We’re Thankful for Our Pets and Team This Thanksgiving

A Season of Thanks in Las Vegas

As the leaves (finally!) start to change color here in Las Vegas and the holiday season approaches, our team at Siena Animal Hospital finds itself reflecting on what truly matters. While we are always grateful for a break in the desert heat, this Thanksgiving, our hearts are full of gratitude for two very special groups: the furry family members who bring us joy, and the incredible veterinary doctors and staff who dedicate their lives to keeping them healthy.

Whether you are a long-time client or looking for a new veterinarian in Las Vegas, we want to share why this season is so special to us.

Why We Are Thankful for Our Pets

It’s no secret that pets change our lives for the better. But have you ever stopped to think about just how much they do for us?

  • Unconditional Love: In a busy city like Las Vegas, coming home to a wagging tail or a purring cat is the ultimate stress reliever. Our pets don't care if we had a bad day at work; they just want to be near us.

  • Health Benefits: Did you know that simply petting a dog or cat can lower your blood pressure? Our patients aren't just cute; they are literally good for your heart!

  • Comedy Relief: From the "zoomies" to the confusing positions they sleep in, pets provide the daily laughter we all need.

To our clients: Thank you for sharing your pets with us. Every time you walk through the doors of our animal hospital, you trust us with your best friend. That is a privilege we never take for granted.

A Special Tribute to the Siena Animal Hospital Team

While everyone loves the animals, a veterinary hospital is nothing without its people. Veterinary medicine is a calling, not just a job. It requires long hours, emotional resilience, and a massive amount of compassion.

The Doctors

The veterinarians at Siena Animal Hospital are celebrated for their expertise and their tireless pursuit of answers. They serve as the calm voice in an emergency and the trusted advisors during routine check-ups. Their dedication to the highest standard of veterinary care ensures that Las Vegas pets live longer, happier lives.

The Veterinary Technicians and Assistants

These team members act as the nurses, the comforters, and the backbone of the hospital. Recognition is due for the gentle restraint, the expertly placed IV catheters, and the extra cuddles given to patients recovering from surgery. They treat every patient as if they were their own, making a significant difference in the quality of care.

The Client Care Team

The front desk staff are the smiling faces (and voices) that greet every client that comes through our door. They navigate busy schedules and emotional phone calls with grace and kindness, acting as the glue that holds the practice together.

Quick Thanksgiving Safety Tips for Las Vegas Pets

We want to ensure your holiday remains happy and emergency-free. As you prepare your feast, please keep these safety tips in mind to avoid a trip to the animal hospital this weekend:

  1. Skip the Bones: Cooked turkey bones can splinter and cause serious internal damage. Stick to boneless, skinless white meat if you must treat your pet.

  2. Watch the Trash: One of the most common reasons for holiday vet visits is "dietary indiscretion" (aka eating the trash). Secure your bins!

  3. No Onions or Garlic: These are toxic to dogs and cats and are often hidden in stuffing and mashed potatoes.

  4. Dessert is for Humans: Keep chocolate and anything containing Xylitol (an artificial sweetener) far out of reach.

Safe Treats for Pets

If you want your pet to join the feast, stick to small amounts of plain, unseasoned pumpkin, green beans, or a piece of white turkey meat without the skin or bones.
